After reviewing the 2022 industry report on transport equipment and large vehicle rental, we have found that there will be a recovery of revenue after Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
Growth in merchandise trade, integrated logistics, and both domestic and international tourism is anticipated to
support industry revenue over the period. The Federal Government has indicated that Australia’s international
borders are likely to reopen in mid-2022. Therefore, industry revenue is forecast to grow strongly over the two years
through 2022-23. Economic uncertainty following the COVID-19 outbreak will also likely stimulate demand for
rentals, as businesses remain hesitant to invest in long-term assets and increasingly shift asset ownership risks to
equipment-leasing companies. Industry revenue is forecast to rise at an annualised 3.0% over the five years through
2025-26, to reach $2.8 billion.
